I'm a sucker for a good, honest, girlfriend movie, and it looks like Frances Ha is going to fit the bill nicely. These two are practicing hand-to-hand combat: how can you not be interested in that?
The movie is about two friends in their late twenties who live in New York City (don't they always live in New York? Cool people and things happen elsewhere too, filmmakers/writers/artists). It's in black and white, and the few clips you can see in the trailer make me think it's got some laugh-out-loud potential. It opens May 17. Call your girlfriends.
